New Melbourne Lord Mayor Robert Doyle plans to re-open Swanston St to traffic. This is a slap in the face to cyclists (to whom he has graciously promised Russell St), not to mention anyone who catches a tram. With it’s 8-plus unsynchronized intersections, Swanston St will be Melbourne’s newest parking lost. Oh yeah, he plans to make more of them too.
