Myspace is virtually good for nothing these days, with one important exception — scoping new artists. Tiptronik (myspace) isn’t that new, but he’s got a new track, entitled ‘Away’. Taking inspiration from mid-80s uplifting electro-pop, ‘Away’ features vocodered vocals and a nice, easy beat. Can definitely hear elements of New Order in that chorus — which is a good thing.
While were on the topic of Tiptronik, he’s recently been remixed by Frenchman Saint Pauli (myspace). This guy seems to have remixed a bunch of different artists, his B52s remix being the standout. Very chopped up and pacey, the mix blows up into a huge breakdown which gets me pumped on an otherwise generic song.
